A Youth Marked by War :

Born in 1927 in Nice, Simone Veil was deported to Nazi concentration camps at the age of 16 with her family. She survived the Holocaust but lost her parents and brother. This tragedy shaped her determination to defend human dignity and justice.

A Career Dedicated to Progress :

After the war, she studied law and became a magistrate in 1956. As Minister of Health under President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, she led the historic fight for the legalization of abortion in 1974, facing fierce opposition. Thanks to her courage, the law was passed in 1975, protecting thousands of women.

A Lasting Legacy :

Conclusion :

Her exceptional journey, shaped by her personal history, has had a considerable impact on contemporary society. She has left an indelible mark on the political and social landscape, particularly in her fight for the right to abortion and its implications on our current society.
