What is a Royal Cypher?

As King Charles III’s reign opens, he needs a monogram to identify his existence as well as his presence as monarch in designated locations and in everyday life.

A few days ago, on Tuesday 27th, this monogram, designated as a ROYAL CYPHER was issued. It will be used for instance on the bills and coins used in the countries of The Commonwealth in New Zealand, Australia and Canada, to name a few.
